Hello from La Ventana! I took a short trip here for my birthday and was inspired to share a few fantastic day trips from Cabo San Lucas that I highly recommend.
La Ventana
La Ventana is a kiteboarding paradise from November to March, but it offers much more. You’ll find beautiful, swimmable beaches, excellent snorkeling, and incredible sea life encounters. On a previous visit, we swam with 26 orcas. This time, we heard about a local who swam with a 36-foot oarfish. The calm waters are ideal for paddleboarding. La Ventana also boasts great restaurants, coffee shops, and accommodations, including our favorite KiteVentana, right across from Hot Springs Beach.
Canyon Zorro
Just an hour from Cabo San Lucas, Canyon Zorro is a stunning desert oasis with a beautiful waterfall near Santiago, BCS. It’s a short hike to the waterfall, surrounded by pools perfect for swimming. Nearby in Santiago, you’ll find soothing natural hot springs.
La Paz
Home to Balandra Beach, one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. The crystal-clear, celadon-colored water is breathtaking, and the sea life is amazing. You can swim with sea lions or whale sharks, depending on the season. The Malecon in La Paz offers a picturesque sunset walk lined with street vendors and charming restaurants.
Todos Santos
This magical town features cobblestone streets, delightful restaurants, great shopping, and boutique hotels near beautiful beaches. The hike at Punta Lobo, near Hotel San Cristobal and Benno restaurant, is spectacular. Don’t miss Hotel California, a popular sightseeing spot.
