This Sunday, Mexico will hold its general election, impacting life in Los Cabos. To ensure clear-headed voting behavior, alcohol sales will be suspended, and many businesses will close. This practice helps create an environment where voters can make informed and responsible decisions.

Elections in Mexico are held on Sundays to accommodate the maximum number of voters. Sunday is traditionally a day off for many, making it easier for people to participate in the electoral process without work or school commitments.
Mexico has a rich history of voting, with significant changes over the years to enhance transparency and fairness. From the introduction of the Federal Electoral Institute (IFE) in 1990 to the establishment of the National Electoral Institute (INE) in 2014, the country has continually worked to improve its democratic processes.
In Los Cabos, we will elect a new municipal president for both Cabo San Lucas and San Jose del Cabo. Our municipalities are divided into two main areas: the urban zone and the rural zone. Each zone has its unique needs and priorities, making the election outcomes critical for our community's future.
